Why I Don’t Support The American Cancer Society

People are often appalled that I do not support the American Cancer Society, or any number of other non-profit organizations that are centered around “cancer research and prevention”. They say, “What is wrong with you? I thought you were concerned about health and wanted to do all that you could to promote good health. So how come you don’t support these organizations?”

Not Committed to Finding Cures or Real Prevention

It’s true that I am dedicated to promoting optimal health, and it’s also true that I do not support most of these organizations. That may seem like a contradiction, but I don’t think it is. Here’s why:

I honestly do not believe that these organizations are committed to finding cures, promoting real prevention and empowering people to be healthier. In fact, I believe that these organizations mostly impede such efforts and that their agenda is quite different from what they put forth to the public. They do a wonderful job of convincing us all to donate our money, to host and participate in athletic events and other public events to “promote their work”, etc. They are great at that. But then what do they do with the money that they raise. Do you know?

It may be more valuable to look at what these organizations do NOT do. They do NOT go around the world finding practitioners, countries and populations that may already have much better cancer prevention and cure technologies than we do. They steadfastly ignore such seemingly important areas of research. They even ignore amazing cancer breakthroughs when they are right here, in our own backyard.

Some History on Dr. John Lee, M.D.

Dr. John Lee, M.D. and his whole family have been dedicated to finding ways to prevent and cure reproductive cancers in men and women for more than 50 years. They have one of the best track records on the planet. And yet, neither the American Cancer Society, nor the Breast Cancer Society have even been willing to review the massive amounts of research as well as documented clinical experience they have accumulated over more than half a century. I know, first hand, that Dr. Lee’s approach works. When I found that I had early stage prostate cancer a little over 4 years ago, I declined conventional treatment, (radical surgery and radiation), and followed Dr. Lee’s protocols. I was very quickly cancer-free, with no side effects, nothing invasive, and at a small fraction of the cost that would have been accrued with conventional treatment.

My urologist at Kaiser was astonished when a few short months down the road I showed up for an exam without the cancer. He declared it a miracle, since I had “declined treatment”, despite his very strong urgings and insistence that I was probably committing suicide. I assured him that this was no miracle at all, but rather that it was just a different approach, based on hard science, and that it was fully replicatable. I explained to him that Dr. Lee had been consistently attaining similar results in thousands of patients for many years. I even brought him the research, which he told me he did not have time to read! He insisted that I was an anomaly and a miracle and that there must not be any scientific backing for what I had done and for the outcome. His comment: “Occasionally miracles happen.”

Does that sound strange, that a doctor who is dedicated to helping people get well, (and I honestly believe that he was and is), would not even take the time to look at the research surrounding an amazing cancer cure? Here’s my theory: Organizations like The American Cancer Society, are so committed to the “conventional information” and approach to dealing with cancer that they are unable to consider anything outside those models. And that even when confronted with information that would normally cause any rational being to question the conventional wisdom, they are unable to let go of what they think they already know. And in fact, under the false idea that they are protecting patients from risking their lives by trying “quackery” they act to suppress anything that may be outside their models.

Funding

It is interesting to note that in Germany, for example, where the big pharmaceutical companies do not control what research gets funded and how the results are reported, they are all over all these “new” ideas, (some have been around for a hundred years or more), and they spend a fraction of what we do on health care, and have far superior outcomes. Their cancer cure and survival rates make ours looks ridiculous. We find similar situations in many other developed countries, where there is nothing like The American Cancer Society, (an 800 pound gorilla in the non-profit arena if ever there was one), and where big pharma does not call the shots.

In summary, I make no claim of knowing what the real agenda of these big non-profits might be. But from their actions it is clear to me that they are NOT committed to overcoming cancer, and in fact, appear to be actively suppressing the research and information of those who are.

So think about how your money is being used when you support these groups. It may not be being used in the way you expect and think it is.

If you want more information about this whole topic, I would recommend: “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer” by Dr. John Lee, M.D. and Dr. David Zava, Ph.D. and Virginia Hopkins. Despite the scary and maybe “limiting” title, this book is about much more than breast cancer. It covers a very wide and critical area of reproductive health, both cure and prevention, for men and women. If you want to begin to understand the socio-economic forces that explain why this most advanced country is so terribly backward in our approach to preventing and dealing with cancer, I recommend: “The Politics Of Cancer Revisited” by Samuel Epstein. Both of these books are now out of print and may be hard to find. However, if you are interested, send me an e-mail and I can direct you to a source. [email protected]
